It took ages to weave string through the net to make it nice and sturdy... I think it will be worth it though.

James worked like a trouper and made a new bed with the big pointy spade which was a big job! We were worried that it was wind damage but it doesn't seem to be the case thankfully. James has been running to the allotment and back as part of his triathlon training to water the plot most evenings and it has definitely made a huge difference. Last week the ground was as dry and solid as cement, this week it was back to sticky clods of clay and mud! We've learned that wet soil makes it easier to dig out bramble roots, however drier soil is easier when you are trying to actually plant things.

It has been a wonderfully sunny day and being back there just made us even more excited about it.

The whole estate is just stunning and the walled garden is such a beautifully serene and tranquil place. I would highly recommend it as a place to visit. They'll live in these now until they are ready to be planted outside. We were so amazed that we went one step further in this observation and set up a camera on a tripod to take photos over a 24 hour period to see just how much the grow in this amount of time. The results are amazing. A small hole made in the top of a plastic drink bottle, which when you hold it upright you can either let the water drip or squeeze the bottle to squirt water into the pot without drenching the whole thing.
